SFC Mark Goodman

SFC Mark Goodman is from Wartburg, TN.

He joined the military in September 2007 as an 11B Infantryman and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, GA. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in 2013 while assigned to the Recruiting & Retention BN where he served as a Recruiting & Retention NCO in Clinton, TN for the next four years. In 2017 he was selected to serve as A CO, RRB Supply NCO in Knoxville, TN. In August 2020 SSG Goodman transitioned back to a production recruiter and National Guard liaison with the University of Tennessee Army ROTC where he also instructs Military Science and Leadership 101 & 102.

His military education includes:

  • Modem Army Combative, Warrior Leaders Course, Retention NCO Course, Recruiting and Retention NCO Course, Unit Supply Specialist Course, and Advanced Leaders Course.

His deployment was for Operation Iraqi Freedom (2010)

SFC Goodman’s military decorations include:

  • Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal with 3 Knots, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, and the National Guard Recruiting Senior Badge.

He has been married to Andrea (Walls) Goodman of Oliver Springs, TN for 24 years. They have a son, Bryson (21), and a daughter, Kylie (18).
